Park City Anniversary

Emily and I knew we couldn’t miss the 90th birthday celebration of my Grandma Bean. Also that week was David’s and Emily’s birthday and Emily and my anniversary (What a week!). We decided to make a trip of it and spend some time with family and friends in our old stomping grounds. Eve Bean had her birthday celebration with her twin brother Grant at the Lion House in SLC. It was great seeing Grant and some of his family we didn’t really know. This was also the first time Emily and I met our cute niece Alice.

Of course we had to see Nathan and Erin with their two cute boys. Erin made Emily a beautiful strawberry pie for her birthday and we were able to catch up with our busy lives. With the rest of the week, Emily and I visited some of the new developments in Utah valley, including an updated BYU campus, and the new Provo Temple.

Finally, we went up to Park city for a fun anniversary get-away. We made sure we stopped at all the fun small-town dinners for breakfast, brunch, and lunch (with a not-so-small anniversary dinner). SLC and Park City are some of our favorite places to go on quick get-aways. It was especially nice to get away knowing it would be one of our last before the arrival of our two highly-anticipated little babes.

Mom’s Birthday

This past week my mom (Norene Bean) came down to San Antonio with three of my favorite aunts and my favorite sister for the best 60th birthday party you have ever seen. We had three jam-packed days with really great San Antonio-themed activities including the Alamo (of course), river boat/Segway tours, card games, chatting, and LOTS of really great food. We ended the week on a high note with a crawfish boil hosted by the wonderful AmyLyn and Michael Packard family.

Can you turn 60 each year mom?!

Rodeo / Monster Truck

Making sure to take advantage of the Texas-like events, we got tickets for the famous San Antonio rodeo and Monster Truck Bash (different nights). The Theurers went to the rodeo with us, and enjoyed Hunter Hayes at the end.

Gruene, Texas

2015-12-30 14.19.18

Once we returned from our Christmas festivities, we decided to close out the year with a visit to Gruene, Texas (pronounced: Green). It’s this quaint Texas town located just north of us. It’s boasting rights are: a restaurant that overlooks the river with a yummy (and heavy) chicken fried steak, the cutest antique store, and a country store filled with all sorts of homemade jams, BBQ sauces, you-name-its. Last of all, they have a dance hall that plays live music and has been around long enough to house all the great country music legends. The creaky floor boards alone are a sign of its rich history! Overall, another wonderful date with the most handsome man in Texas.
